Kevin Pierce came to the Flying Circus in 1999 after establishing a friendship with long time circus associate Hal Bogert. "Bo" (as he is known here) offered to sell him a plane at a price he couldn't refuse.
The airplane came with a few extras that were included in the sale contract, namely, a lab coat, a Prussian Helmet, and an active part in the Fabulous Flying Circus.
Kevin has been flying planes since he was a youngster, He began with models and progressed to gliders, soloing at age 14. After graduating from high school he tried power aircraft and soloed quickly. However, his logbook got destroyed in a fire and he left aviation for a while.
When the hang gliding craze struck, Kevin again took to the skies, making his own glider from a kit. He also owned a quicksilver monoplane. He got his private pilot's license (logging 250 hours) which lead him to the Flying Circus again
Kevin had previously applied for a wingwalkerjob in the 1980's but reports he was "a little heavy."
