Former member of the Flying Circus Board of Directors
Flying History
Tim started with the Flying Circus in 1974 after visiting in 1971
but had to wait until he was 14 years old to work at the FCA.
At 14, he started working around the old bi-planes and getting
time in the Stearman with one of the original founding members, Norm Moore.
At 15, he started flight training in a 1946 Piper J-3 Cub with
Charlie Kulp (AKA "The Flying Farmer") and soloed at the age of sixteen on
the same field that he performs today.
He moved on to receive his private and commercial licenceand began
flying Norm's Stearman during ride hopping and in the show. He has logged over
1000 hours in Stearmans and this has become his favorite antique aircraft.
Not only does he enjoy flying the Stearman he also enjoys
maintaining the airplane. He has flown several different types of aircraft
commercially and has also been a jump pilot and also has towed gliders for
a living. "I have been with the Flying Circus for 30 years and plan to be
here for another 30. "This is the type of place where you can call everyone
your family and feel right at home".
